Domain Procedures

Domain name operations are carried out within the framework of procedures determined by ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers), which is organized at the international level. These procedures are rules determined by the relevant authority, valid worldwide, unchangeable, and binding for all domain extensions.

Domain owners lose all management rights when their domain names expire. No administrative action such as editing contact information, DNS changes, or arranging contact information for the domain owner can be performed on expired domain names.

Domain names need a period of 80-90 days for their ownership rights to be completely lost. This process may vary in some extensions. Some extensions may drop as soon as the domain name expires. An expired domain name can be registered by a new user within the framework of certain procedures if no retrieval process has been initiated on it.

Domain Registration

Domain names are registered on a first-come, first-served basis. Most domain names can be registered within the desired time frame without requiring any documents. Domain names of our customers who pay by credit card are registered instantly, while payments made by bank transfer or EFT are registered after they reach our accounts and/or after our customer notifies us of payment with a bank receipt. Extensions like ".TR" are subject to two different processes, with or without documents, as they are registered by application. Document-free .TR extensions are registered within 24 hours, while documented domain names are registered within 1-4 business days following the submission of documents.

Domain registration prices are calculated based on the dollar exchange rate, and in case of a significant difference due to the exchange rate, the price may be increased or decreased.

Domain Renewal

Domain names can be renewed at the price shown in the system within the registration period. Domain names can be renewed at the price shown in the system within the first 33 days after the registration period expires. After this 33-day period, the redemption period begins, and domain names can be restored after paying a redemption fee ranging from 75 USD + VAT to 125 USD + VAT (known extensions: .COM 100 USD + VAT, .NET 75 USD + VAT, .ORG 75 USD + VAT) depending on the extension. After the second 33-day period, a 15-day deletion period begins, and the domain name cannot be renewed during this period.

Processes may vary depending on domain extensions, and some extensions may not be renewable after the registration period expires.

Domain Deletion

Domain names cannot be deleted within the registration period. The registration period and the subsequent process must be completed. In case deletion is requested during this process, our policy is to cut off the accessibility of the domain name for our customer. The domain name may drop after completing all processes.

Situations such as domain names not dropping after completing all processes are not caused by our company but by companies that want to register domain names via the backorder system.

Domain Statuses

Active or OK

This status indicates that the domain name is active, can be renewed, and administrative operations such as whois and dns changes can be performed.

On-Hold

This status indicates that the domain name can be renewed, but whois and dns changes cannot be made. The domain name does not respond to DNS queries in this status.

Redemption Period

This status indicates that the domain name has expired and fallen into a penalty position. The domain name does not respond to DNS queries in this status.

Pending Restore

This status indicates that the domain name has been renewed within the redemption period and has entered the restoration process. The domain name does not respond to DNS queries in this status.

Pending Delete

This status indicates that the domain name has exceeded the penalty position and entered the deletion process. The domain name does not respond to DNS queries in this status.

Our Warnings and Suggestions to Users

Oweb sends an information email to the email address registered in our system stating that you need to extend your domain registration period if your domain name expires. In addition to the information text given in this email, it provides you with the opportunity to perform management operations on your domain name from the customer panel with the username and password given to you.

Against all kinds of extraordinary situations, Oweb does not accept any responsibility for this situation as it provides information messages regarding the expiration, closing, and deletion of the domain name.
