A domain's price is made up of more than one component. Every extension has a registry that keeps all registrations under it; for example, Verisign operates .com and .net. The registry sets the wholesale price it charges registrars, the companies that sell domain names. For generic extensions such as .com and .org, a small ICANN transaction fee is added, and the registrar factors in the cost of DNS infrastructure, the client panel and support. That is why domain prices vary noticeably between extensions, and even within the same extension the first-year registration, transfer and renewal fees can differ.
When you move a domain registered with another provider to Oweb, you pay the transfer fee shown in the table for that extension. For most generic extensions such as .com, .net and .org, a successful transfer adds one year to the expiry date of the domain, so the fee also covers a one-year extension. Rules may differ for country-code extensions. The process starts with the EPP (transfer) code you get from your current provider; you can find the steps of the domain transfer process on our transfer page.
A low first-year price can be tempting, but when choosing a cheap domain, looking only at the price tag can be misleading. Check the following before you decide:

Of the three columns in the price table, most people look only at Registration. Yet because you will keep the domain for years, the Renewal column often determines the real cost when comparing domain name prices; an extension that looks cheap in the first year can cost more in the years that follow.
Some extensions come with a promotional first-year registration price, after which the standard domain renewal fee applies from the second year on. The gap is especially noticeable for some newer extensions. Before choosing an extension, compare the Registration and Renewal columns together and work out the total cost over the number of years you plan to keep the domain.
Short or highly sought-after names that a registry classifies as premium may be sold outside the standard price list at higher rates. Since the renewal fee for such names can also be above the standard price, always check the yearly cost before you buy.
Missing the expiry date can raise the cost of a domain unexpectedly. For generic extensions, once the grace period after expiry has also passed, the domain enters the redemption period, and getting it back requires a redemption fee far above the standard renewal fee. Extensions such as .com.tr, .net.tr and .tr itself (e.g. name.tr) are registered through TRABİS (the .tr Network Information System) via accredited registrars. Their registration and renewal fees are listed in separate rows of the table. While many of them, such as .com.tr, can be registered without documents, some extensions such as .av.tr, .edu.tr and .gov.tr are allocated only to eligible individuals and institutions. The registration fee is what you pay to register an available domain for the first time. The transfer fee applies when you move a domain registered with another provider to Oweb. The renewal fee is paid to extend your domain's term before it expires.
No, the prices in the table do not include VAT. As also stated in our terms of service, the VAT amount is shown separately together with the order total during checkout.
At Oweb, the redemption fee ranges from 75 USD + VAT to 125 USD + VAT depending on the extension; for example, it is 100 USD + VAT for .com and 75 USD + VAT for .net and .org. You pay it to get back a domain that was not renewed during the grace period after expiry and has entered the redemption period, and it is far higher than the standard renewal fee. No. Internal transfers, where a domain is moved to another Oweb customer account, are free of charge. The transfer fee in the table only applies when you move a domain registered with another provider to Oweb.
For a multi-year registration, the total is calculated according to the number of years you choose and is shown exactly during checkout. Since the renewal fee may apply from the second year on for extensions with a promotional first-year price, it is more realistic to estimate the total using the Registration column for the first year and the Renewal column for the following years. The maximum term also depends on the extension: domain registration periods are limited to 10 years in total for generic extensions and to 5 years at a time for .tr extensions.
Registries may update their wholesale prices from time to time. In addition, since the cost of international extensions is usually set in US dollars, their Turkish lira equivalents can change with the exchange rate. We therefore recommend checking the current domain prices table on this page before placing an order.
